Below are various types of mode offence that may be committed.

 

Veeder Roote Electronic Automatic

Driving on wrong mode (ie rest mode)

 

All Types of Head

Recording overnight rest on anything other than rest (i.e. in this case on other duty mode)

 

 

 

Automatic/Manual heads

Where driver indicates on rear/front of chart that he has mistakenly selected the wrong mode ( ie 07.50 to 08.25 rest wrong mode selected, should be rest)

 

 

Non-driving when double manned - All Heads

When sitting alongside a driver whilst the vehicle is in motion other/duty mode should be selected (not rest as in this case)

 

Manual Heads

Driving on any mode other than drive (in this case driving on rest)

 

Manual Heads

Stationary periods on drive mode (this is either other duty or rest - not driving)

 

Use of different type of heads

Automatic heads

There is no drive symbol on automatic heads. Once the vehicle moves drive is automatically recorded, when the vehicle stops the head records the mode which is selected. To use this head correctly you must select box before you set off. Drive will be recorded when you start to move and when you stop it will revert to box to record other work. The only movement you make is from box to rest when you take a break.

Manual heads

You must select each individual mode every time you change duties, i.e. drive, box,
