Continentals' software has been tested and found to work with the Windows software.  In the main installation problems arise due to:

1. The person trying to install the software does not have Computer Administrator rights.

2. Not having the site (i.e. https//www. my-fis.co.uk and https://www.my-fis.com) as a trusted sites in the Internet Options.

3. Internet Options not being set to allow Active X Controls to be downloaded.

4. Firewall settings preventing the software from being installed.

Each time there is an upgrade to the program you may have to download an Active X Control which may involve disabling the firewall to allow the upgrade to be installed.  You can get assistance with these installation problems below.

In order to install the software into your computer you will need to have Administrator rights for the computer.  Please consult your IT advisor or department on this.

Drivers & Vehicles

Once you login to your account you must add your drivers and vehicles and the same applies to future drivers/agency drivers and hire vehicles.

  1. You must put the drivers full name, as shown on his/her driver card, in the account.  If you use abbreviations or miss out middle names, you will end up with two drivers in your account with the same name.

  2. You must enter the registration number without any spaces.  If you put in a space you will have two vehicles with the same registration number.

Downloading data from vehicles

  1. Switch on the ignition and leave it switched on.

  2. Insert your company card into slot 1 of the tachograph.

  3. Let the tachograph register the card and return to the original display.  You will see the company name appear and a progress bar will travel across the tachograph.  Once the company card has been logged on the display will return to the original.

  4. You can now insert the download device or cable into the tachograph.  The Siemens tachograph has a flap on the front and the Stoneridge connection is made by removing the printer roll mechanism.

  5. Leave the download key in until there are two green lights or the Stoneridge download tool in until the green lights become stationary.

Faults

You should consult this page to view the different types of fault that can be found on a tachograph chat along with illustrations of these faults.

Deleting Faults

If you have made a mistake and added a fault and saved the chart, you cannot simply remove this fault by double clicking on the fault and pressing delete on the keyboard.  It is not possible either, to click on the fault and then replace it with another letter.

You must click on the fault tab and remove the tick from alongside the fault.  You can then save the chart or add another fault.
