Internet settings to enable the installation of TISWeb

*  TIS-Web will not work using Firefox or Google chrome.  You must use Internet Explorer.

Self installation

Please follow the steps below to enable you to install Active X controls which are required to enable you to run the VDO tachograph analysis software.

If you do not have administration rights and are simply logged on as a user, you may have to ask your IT Department to install the software for you..

Before making any changes to your computer settings make sure that you seek advice on your authority to make these changes.

1.  Log on to the Internet using Internet Explorer.  Type www.tachochart.com into the address bar window.  Once our home page displays, click on 'add to favourites bar' icon and add our website to your favourites bar and you will see it displayed on the favourites bar.  If you do not have this facility because you are using an earlier version of windows explorer, then simply click on the word favourites and add our site to your favourites.  Use this shortcut to login to your account via our website.

2.  Once you have added our site to the favourites bar, click on client login on the bottom left hand side of the page.

3. Open Internet Explorer, select Tools and then Internet Options. Tools may be sited at the top or right side of the page, depending on the version of windows explorer that you are using.

4. Now click on the security tab.  Click on the green tick, Trusted sites and then the button which says sites (see below).

5. In the box which says Add the website to the zone  you should see https://www.my-fis.com.  Click the add button and it should now be displayed in the websites window.

If you do not see the website displayed in the Add this website to the zone, add the following websites, https://www.my-fis.co.uk and https://www.my-fis.com.

The sites https://www.my-fis.co.uk and https://www.my-fis.com, should then appear in the box marked Web sites

For Windows Vista you will also need to set the Security level for trusted sites to low. Click on the custom level button and reset custom settings to low.

6. Now select the Advanced tab, scroll down to Security and put a tick in the first four tick boxes (please make sure that they correspond to what is shown below).

7. Close the Internet options window, so that the new settings can be saved.

8. This will take you back to the TIS-Web login screen.  Enter your login details into the three boxes and click Sign on.  You will then get the TIS-Web 3 screen and your Fleet summary.  Click on the TIS-Web 3 button and the software should start to install.

You may see the following error message when you login ' There has been a problem with the Client Software Installer.  Please contact your support agent'.  Look up the screen above this message and you may  'This site requires the following Active X control.................Click here to install'.  Install this Active X control.

You may have to do this three or four times to install all of the Active X controls.

You may also get a message to say that the website is trying to install Add-ons.  Simply install these Add-ons.  You only have to do this when you first login to the site.

If you see this error message but do not see the Add-ons bar go straight to the Offline Installer, below and install the software.

9. You also need to install the the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (vcredist_x86.exe) software, below.  Simply click on the download icon on the right of the box.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable (vcredist_x86.exe)

This package can be used to resolve the problem where some of the controls on the Download form in TIS-Web are blank or show a small graphic at the top left. If you are updating your TIS-Web software using the online installer then this package can help. This package contains additional software to support the TIS-Web controls in the Download form. We recommend that you transfer this package to your computer and then run it.

10. If you are still having problems, you should go back into Internet Explorer Tools and select Manage Add-ons.  Check to see in the listings if Google or Ebay add-ons are enabled and to disable them.  This will need to be done when using Vista.  Once the TIS-Web software is installed you can re-enable the Add-ons.
